Resch Note*1830 Research Note:
Be careful!

There are 2 Edwin Kirk's - one born about 1832 (15 Dec 1832) to Thomas & Mary, and one born around 1830 to Oliver and Phoebe. (both in Greasley).

I did have the wrong Edwin marrying Ann Rowbottom, and the one marrying her in 1856 is in fact the son of Thomas Kirk, not Oliver Kirk. This would match his age in 1861 and successive census.

This one likely to have married Harriet Rowley, but died. Note family living next to Thomas Rowley (bn around 1800) - probably Harriet's father - in 1871.

Resch Notebetween 1 April 1856 and 30 June 1856 Research Note:
Possible marriage of this Edwin to Harriot Rowley or Mary Wilkinson. I think Henry Parkes married Mary Wilkinson (of Greasley), so Edwin possibly married Harriot Rowley.

More evidence as their children baptised as Edwin & Harriet, and they are found along with Thomas Rowley in 1871.

Edwin Kirk1

M, #2929, b. 15 December 1832, d. 10 September 1908
Resch Note*1830 Research Note:
Be careful!

There are 2 Edwin Kirk's - one born about 1832 (15 Dec 1832) to Thomas & Martha, and one born around 1830 to Oliver and Phoebe. (both in Greasley).

I did have the wrong Edwin marrying Ann Rowbottom, and the one marrying her in 1856 is in fact the son of Thomas Kirk, not Oliver Kirk. This would match his age in 1861 and successive census.

Fortunately, as Ann Rowbottom is also connected, this hasn't wasted my time...just changed his connection from "2nd cousin to main line" to "married to 2nd cousin".

Now corrected.

Family of James Kisby and Frances Hilton

(Groom) Marriage*18 October 1867 James Kisby married Frances Hilton, daughter of George HILTON and Mary Ann WATSON, on 18 October 1867 at Elm, CAM,
James Kisby age 23, single father Emmanuel Kisby
= Frances Hilton, age 21, single, father: George Hilton

Not an impossibility as Frances' mother Mary Ann was in Elm in 1851

Later census saying Frances was born in Gedney Dyke sealed it!

... as well as finding they were witnesses to Frances' brother George Hilton's married (1869) all along ... duh!
