| (Subject) Newspaper* | 10 June 1933 | Sydney Willingham and Freda Mary Reams were the subject of a newspaper article on 10 June 1933. Kirton Holme - Amber Hill Alliance (picture) A very pretty wedding of considerable local interest took place on Whit Monday afternoon at St. Gilbert's Church, Brothertoft. Both the contracting parties being very well-known in the district. The bride was Miss Freda Mary Reams, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reams, of Holme House, Kirton Holme, and the bridegroom was Mr. Stanley Willingham, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Willingham, of Sutterton Drove, Amber Hill. The bride who was charmingly dressed in white satin and lace and white veil, was given away by her father. She was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Clarice Reams, her sister, and Misses Phyllis and Florence Willingham, sister of the bridegroom, and little Sheila Grantham, her niece. The bride carried a bouquet of carnations, and the bridesmaids bouquets of white and pink pyrethrums. The bridesmaids' dresses were of yellow, figured with small pink flowers, and made a pretty picture. Mr. Thomas Cook was the best man. The nuptial ceremony was performed by the vicar, including two hymns "Lead us, Heavenly Father", and "Praise my soul the King of Heaven". Mrs. I. S. Bennett was at the organ. A reception was held at the bride's home, Holme House. The honeymoon is being spent in East Yorkshire, and the future residence of the happy couple is to be Amber Hill. The bride and bridegroom were the lucky recipients of many useful presents, one being a tea service from parishioners of Kirton Holme and Hubbert's Bridge. The bride has been voluntary organist at Kirton Holme church for the last five years. Mentioned Fred Reams, May Evelyne Neal and Clarice Betsey Reams.4 |

Jane Clifton, wife age 28y 10m female, married born Eastwood, NTT British. Enumerated with her husband Thomas Peck Clifton, Walter Clifton and Frank Clifton. The house had 3 rooms.2 |
| Had a Son | between 1 July 1925 and 30 September 1925 | Her son Walter Clifton was born between 1 July 1925 and 30 September 1925 at Heanor, DBY .4 |
| Research | after 1926 | Research: After Thomas's apparent death, more children have appeared. Thomas & Sarah J's children are too young to be the parents - so must be Sarah Jane's? (relationships not shown in 1939 registration). The children are registered as Clifton's with a mother Wilmot. Sarah J did not remarry another Clifton. The other Clifton living with them (Walter, Thomas' father) died in 1929. There is no suitable death (in NTT or DBY or anywhere of the right age) for a Thomas Clifton after 1925, but in 1925 there is a burial in Heanor of a 33 year old Thomas Clifton who died in Nottm General Hospital.(R.D. Nottingham). My hypothesis is that Sarah Jane had further children and kept registering them as of the couple. There is a possibility that another (to be identified) Clifton family member joined Sarah to have those children, otherwise we are in "turkey baster" territory ... or accept the mis-registration of the births. For example, Frank Clifton, 8 years younger than Thomas and unmarried age 40 and living very close (with Lily Gent, his and Thomas' sister) in 63 Derby Road Heanor in 1939. An example of one of their post 1926 birth certificates (and Thomas' death certificate) would be interesting and possibly definitive. I don't however know who the father is of any of the post-1925 children. |
| Research* | 26 November 1929 | Research: Thomas' father Walter lived with them before he died - in 1921 census up to 1929 when he died.5,2 |

She was enumerated with, also with "a closed record" looks like a female who married b 10.5.66. Index had "Chain at school" for Sarah Jane and Gladys. Charing was often a "euphamism" ... and seeing lots of children were born after Thomas's supposed death, then ... But this census does not state relationships.3 |
