(Bride) Marriage*11 January 1936 She married Thomas Brooking Snell, son of MA MB Bch (Cantab) James Eric Boobbyer Snell and Annie Eliza Shipstone, on 11 January 1936 at All Soul's Church, Langham Place, Marylebone, LND,
Book states 1946, but was actually 1936.
" lovely wedding that followed,
and which took place on January 11th 1946, at All Souls, Langham Place, when Tommy's Uncle, Rev. R. D. Weller, with the vicar at All Souls officiated. There were six bridesmaids, including Tommy's three sisters, Barbara, Noanie and Pat, and two of Eileens' school friends, and sister Betty, whose names I do not recall. The best man was Canon Lee's son, Neville, of Nottingham.

The beautifully arranged reception was held at our very familiar family hotel, the Langham, Portland Place; where our family and many of the guests were staying. Eileen's beautiful wedding gown was made of a delicate white diaphanous material, with a long train attractively trimmed on the edges with imitation roses. The bridesmaids in almond green velvet dresses, with medium trains, walked in crocodile form from the Church, following groom and bride to the hotel, as it was very conveniently near. They made a very pretty picture in spite of the various hair styles. Eileen's long fine net veil blew heavenwards! They and the many guests were ushered into the private red and gold reception room, to partake of the luscious wedding breakfast, and hear the lavish speeches. After the disappearance of the bridal couple, a very pleasant dance took place in the large lounge of the hotel, to the strains of a suitable string orchestra. Although I was very careful not to convey any expression of regret, my heart was heavy as lead in the knowledge of having lost, to a very great extent, my son, on whom I doted, and yet was glad for his happiness."7

Or was this an administrative blunder?

Should really have been included if they knew him to be alive ...

No trace in FreeBMD deaths 1911-1927.6
