Research*15 June 1837 Research: at Eastwood, NTT, So what is the Sarah Ann Drabble/Drapple relationship?

Mother Charlotte Drabble
1809-1862

Sarah Ann Drabble bn 15 Jun 1837, Eastwood
so how do we know who her father was?

Stated father in some trees William J. Stones 1779-1857

So why is trulines trying desparately to link to Oliver Meakin?

That's because one of the many options is "Eldidge Astill Family Tree" which has Oliver Meakin and Charlotte "Rolland" Drabble as parents of Sarah Ann Drabble.

Sarah Meekin when married in 27 Dec 1879 to William Cliff stated father of Sarah (age 22) to be Oliver Meakin, labourer.
(This cannot be the Sarah Drabble as 20 years too young)
So not an illegitiamate at all??
.. but make Sarah born 1857 and not 1837!

Desipte an errant marriage being used as evidence, (and a rogue baptism in Birmiingham ...) this shows Oliver and Charlotte Rolland Drabble to be the parents of Sarah Ann Drabble.

Maybe they picked Oliver becase an Oliver Meakin was father of a sarah in 1857?

Marriage of Sarah Ann Drabble to a Mansfield C. Jennings nut details of this are sketchy (around 1861" but children are recorded as from 1868.

There is already Drabble in my tree.
Sophia Clifton = Robert Drabble but Sarah Ann is not their child AFAIK

In 1841 Greasley there is a Charlotte Drabbel living with a Rowland family who has a daughter age 4 called Sarah.

In 1851 the same pair are found in the same household in Beggarlee Bottom stocking maker and stocking seamer, but named as "sister" and "Niece" of Mary Rowland age 44. So if Mary Rowland was originally a Drabble, I think we have her "England story" sorted. What we still have no record of who fathered Sarah. But I do have a DNA match in thrulines (assuming rest of tree is not as poor as the English end).

I am somehow linked to Sarah (Ann?) Drabble. Sheis not a direct ancestor, but it is not clear how at this point.

Name Variation  Martha MEAKING was also known as MEAKIN.
Birth-Altbefore 14 April 1785 Martha MEAKING, daughter of Gregory MEAKING and Sarah RAWSON, was also reported to have been born before 14 April 1785.
(Child) Birthbefore 6 April 1787 Martha MEAKING, daughter of Gregory MEAKING and Sarah RAWSON, was born before 6 April 1787 at Greasley, NTT.1
(Child) Baptism*6 April 1787 Martha MEAKING was baptised on 6 April 1787 at The Parish Church, Greasley, NTT, Martha daughter of Gregory & Sarah MEAKIN.2
Research*6 April 1787 Research: I now have a different set of parents for Martha Meakin.

Christened: 6 Apr 1787 Place: Greasley, Nottingham, England
Parents:
Gregory Meakin, Sarah Rawson

instead of:

14 Apr 1785, Joseph Meakin & Elizabeth Gregory

So why make the new choice?
Family of Gregory and Sarah Meakin is more compelling as it is tied together with marriage entries where they are witmesses - e.g. to Phylis & Thomas Clifton's cousin Lydia Meakin (father: George, also father of Martha)

Yes, this might make this Martha rather young when she married, but having reviewed the supporting evidence it outweighs this. Her burial date was also out by 2 years - not unknown - now correct for her age.

Also supported by DNA matches which I could not otherwise account for ... (including distant Rawson matches)

There is more mileage in Gregory Meakin & Sarah Rawson - as another child of theirs (John Meakin, 1785) marries Elizabeth Clifton - Samuel's sister!

John Meakin also a signatory at Martha's marriage.

Research* Research: I'm becoming a little convinced that this was the child of Joseph and Julia Ann (marriage proves that). Presumably they could not cope and another family relation (her deceased husband's brother) agreed to take her on.

The "Hetty" name comes and goes, Emma mainly stays (as a second name).
Her father being stated on her 1919 marriage as "Joseph Mee" was a clincher for me.

I could use some evidence of the "niece" relation between this John Fisher (Hetty Emma's "uncle") and the Charles Fisher who married Julia, to prove the statements in the census.

Emma would have been a recipient of the "Estate of Jo Bingham deceased" as she survived past 1927. I think the fact that Julia died in 1887 (and she is named as the contact in 1927) meant that no-one knew much about Julia Ann's family at the time and least of all about Emma as she left the family home before the age of 8.
Birth*between 1 July 1882 and 30 September 1882 Emma Mee, daughter of Joseph Mee and Julia Ann Shipstone, was born between 1 July 1882 and 30 September 1882 at Arnold, NTT.1,2

(born respectively 1884, 1886 and 1882 Emma was the eldest of the 3 but presumably put at the bottom as she was not a boy.
Note that Ann their eldest was baptised earlier).1
